Weeeell. It depends on what you want? Do you want to race it at a club? Or just throw it around in the dirt?
) However, it is quite uncommon in this country, which can make the wait for parts quite long at points. http://www.rcrecreation.com/TRAXXAS_NITRO_SPORT_2WD_STADIUM_TRUCK-UKP761.html
I own the 'hpi bullet' http://www.wheelspinmodels.co.uk/car/item/HPI-101400-HPI-Bullet-ST__fde9/
and a losi 8ight.
The bullet, the linked one, is a good truck. Its not great, but it is pretty well made for the price.
The losi 8ight is a massive expense if your not sure this is for you.
Other trucks/buggies i could suggest would be;
thundertiger tomahawk buggy; If you have patience and a bit of cash, these can be good models. The cash is for the bits that break, as since they are budget-tastic, some of the build quality can be sub-par. http://www.nitro-rc.co.uk/radio-controlled-model/Thunder_Tiger_Tomahawk_BX_1_10_Nitro_RC_Buggy_RTR.html
Another is the 'traxxas nitro sport'. The easy start system is an absolutely brilliant idea for a begginer. I have never had the engine give me troubles, or not hold a tune on this car. (sadly now sold it
Finally, you could invest in something a bit more pricy like hpi's savage line of monster trucks.

HPI do a really good after market thing. Their hop ups, are, in my humble opinion, some of the better ones.
I wouldnt buy from nitrotek unless you are willing to buy every upgrade they offer before ever running the car.
The cheaper kits are cheaper for a reason. Nitro is an investment in time and money. If you dont have the patience, then something like: http://goldstarstockists.net/live/catalog/product_info.php?language=en¤cy=GBP&products_id=22240
Or, http://nimrifmodels.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=MV12205 can be good fun, with good scope for upgrading at a later date.
