Nitro RC cars do they actually use nitro?

i was wondering with nitro rc cars do you actually put nitro in them,if so were would you buy it from and is it costly?

They use a combination of methanol as primary ingredient, nitromethane in various percentages for increased power, and various special lubricants/oils.

How costly depends primarily on the percentage of nitromethane as this is the most expensive ingredient. The average price is between 5 and 15 dollars per QUART, depending on the nitro percentage.

MOST hobby shops that handle the vehicles, (plane, car, boat) also carry the fuel, or it can be bought on-line.

It's a special blend of 2 stroke oil, nitro methanol and other ingredients. You buy it either online or from your local hobby shop

Yes they do put some nitro into the mixture. It is best to buy the fuel instore because online you have to buy six gallons at a time for some reason. It usually cost between $18-35 per gallon depending on the brand and the percentage of nitro.
