What kind of fuels can you use in Gas/Nitro Rc Car?
I am going to buy a RC car that works with nitro/gas. I have no clue if you can also use other fuels like gasoline or mixture of oil and gasoline on those kind of cars. Nitro is kind of expensive and it kills the engine pretty quickly, so I am wondering if you can use other fuels too.
ONLY USE NITRO FUELS FROM YOUR LOCAL HOBBY STORE.
The engine will DIE if you use other fuels, and you risk BLOWING YOURSELF (or others) UP!
These engines are DESIGNED to run ONLY NITRO FUELS.
Depending on what car you have you will need between 5% and 30% nitro and 5-30% castor oil.
My car is a 1/10 scale and uses 20% nitro with 16%total oil content (made up of 11% castor and 5% synthetic)
Your owners handbook will tell you what % nitro and oil to run.

great answer ^^
i suggest in addition that if you're worried about engine life , get a liquid cooled engine . look into piston ring upgrades and cylinder sleeving if you do wearda motor out.

In addition to all the other great advice, after your done running it for the day, put after-run oil in it. This will keep moisture out and the bearings lubricated.

Nitro cars/trucks use 10%-20% nitromethanol gas mix to operate. The car manual you get will tell you the recomended amount. You need to buy the Nitro Fuel (Availible At Tower Hobbies, or your local hobby store in Quart or Gallon Jugs) that is the right mixture for your car. There is no mixing, or measuring for you to do. Just pour your gas in your car and follow the break in procedure
